SUMMARY:Mackenzie
DESCRIPTION:A hilarious\, twisted\, and deeply camp reimagining of Shakespeare’s Macbeth \nA hilarious\, twisted\, and deeply camp reimagining of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. \nMackenzie is 13 and she’s booked her first-ever TV gig: a tiny part on a huge kids show. It’s a small start\, but Mackenzie’s mum has always felt sure that her daughter was destined for superstardom. One day\, Mackenzie and her best on-set friend Beau encounter a geriatric make-up artist who is struck with a vision – that Mackenzie will be NUMBER ONE POP GIRL OF THE WORLD. \nDirected by the electric Virginia Gay\, this hilariously macabre play (with songs) charts Mackenzie’s rise to fame fuelled by a cut-throat stage mum who will stop at absolutely nothing. Set in the heights of early 2000s TV stardom\, prepare for a wild ride that will leave you in stitches – and deeply disturbed

SUMMARY:The Dapto Chaser
DESCRIPTION:The Dapto Chaser is a biting\, black comedy about chasing dreams\, racking up debts\, and the cut-throat world of greyhound racing. \nWhen your beloved dog’s your golden ticket and your family’s a ticking time bomb\, what could possibly go wrong? THE DAPTO CHASER is a biting\, black comedy about chasing dreams\, racking up debts\, and the cut-throat world of greyhound racing. \nWith the odds stacked against them\, the Sinclair family’s biggest gamble might not be on their champion\, Boy Named Sue — but on each other. \nMary Rachel Brown’s quintessentially Australian play dives into the brutal reality of addiction to the track\, where every win is a fleeting victory and every loss tastes like stale kibble. \nIt’s gritty\, it’s raw\, and it’s laugh-out-loud funny\, but at its heart\, it’s about the lengths we’ll go to for a chance at a better life.

SUMMARY:Nolan Origins
DESCRIPTION:A major survey journeying through the landscapes and stories that transformed Australian art. \nExperience the astounding creativity and poetic power of Sidney Nolan’s art in this in-depth survey of the artist’s formative years in Australia. From indelible visions of the outlaw Ned Kelly to epic portrayals of Central Australia\, Nolan redefined perceptions of place and nation in Australia’s cultural imagination. \nIncluding his infamous series of paintings on bushranger Ned Kelly (1946–47)\, the exhibition brings together around 100 major works produced before Nolan relocated to the United Kingdom in 1953 – years in which he forged a reputation as one of this country’s most distinctive modernist artists. \nNolan: Origins examines the artist’s engagement with the places he painted as he evolved his singular\, enigmatic visual language\, including St Kilda\, Wimmera\, K’gari (also known as Fraser Island)\, Central Australia and the landscapes of Ned Kelly’s story in north-eastern Victoria. The exhibition also tells of how Nolan interrogated the idea of ‘Australia’\, invoking a sense of place through myths\, histories\, people and creatures imbued with his own personal inner meanings. \n
