Wake In Fright
2 December - 19 December
An Australian Gothic Classic, Reimagined
Looking for an incredible night of live Australian drama? Kenneth Cook’s cult novel Wake in Fright has been masterfully adapted for the stage by Declan Greene and Zahra Newman.
This gripping production serves as a fascinating study of Australian Gothic horror and identity, subverting traditional themes through a tour-de-force solo performance by Newman. It tracks a middle-class schoolteacher’s terrifying loss of control when stranded in a remote town ruled by booze, bravado, and buried violence. Perfect for theatre lovers, literature fans, and senior drama students alike!
Experience the show The Age calls “brilliant, bold and deeply unnerving theatre.”
